Shannon began her journey in alternative health care 20 years ago through the need to heal herself. Like so many of us, she was unsatisfied with the care given her in conventional western doctor’s offices. Determined to find a higher quality of life, she tried acupuncture and was immediately enthused. Compliance to healing through the principals of the Oriental Medical system given her in one of the country’s leading clinics not only put her on the road to health, but offered insight into what it truly means to be healthy.
Fueled by these life altering results, Shannon changed careers, earning her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and a Licensed Acupuncturist in 2012. Her passion to grow in the field has led her to further her education by additionally completing a year long apprenticeship with a master in the field of Sports medicine & Orthopedic Acupuncture in 2014. She will also be completing 3 years of independent study with a capstone certification in Functional Medicine in 2017, while having also received training in Reiki levels 1 and 2 in 2016.
Shannon maintains a thriving private practice outside of the Kindness community, however finds working in the community acupuncture setting particularly rewarding. She cherishes being a part of the community that Kindness has created and is proud to contribute her services and passion for natural healing in a cost effective way. When working with patients, Shannon’s approach is rooted in her personal experience, propelled by compassion for the unique condition in every individual, and driven by her desire to share the healing possible through acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
